Nick Anvelink won his fifth Dirt Kings race of the season.
What won the race: Taking the lead on lap 20 from Brett Swedberg, seventh-starting Nick Anvelink of Navarino, Wis., raced to his fifth DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour triumph of the season Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Ron Berna finished second and Tim Buhler was third. Anvelink earned $1,200.
Key notes: Brett Swedberg of Shawano, Wis., led the first 19 laps before Nick Anvelink, who was up to second on lap 13, swept by on the outside to lead lap 20. … A caution waved on lap 21 when Swedberg and Josh Moesch got together on the backstretch, sending both to the tail of the field. … Anvelink has won five of eight series races this season. … Outagamie Speedway hosted the second-year Dirt Kings series for the first time ever. … The series returned to action after a five-week hiatus.
On the move: Joe Reuter of Shawano, Wis., started 17th and finished ninth.
