What won the race: Overtaking polesitter James Giossi on the third lap, Jesse Glenz of Fall Creek, Wis., led the rest of the 40-lapper for his first career Wollak Construction WISSOTA Challenge Series victory at Cedar Lake Speedway. Finishing 4.242 seconds ahead of runner-up and hometown driver Pat Doar, Glenz earned a $2,500 payday.
Key notes: Glenz, a Cedar Lake regular, scored his second $2,500 payday in less than a month's time; he won the NASCAR-sanctioned portion of the New Richmond, Wis., oval's USA Nationals on Aug. 3. ... Nine of the race's 20 starters finished on the lead lap. ... Friday's series winner at Red Cedar Speedway, Jimmy Mars, was among Cedar Lake's early retirees. ... Cedar Lake hosted its only WISSOTA Challenge race of the season and first in more than 19 years.
