What won the race: Second-starting Travis Pennington of Stapleton, Ga., led all 50 laps for a $3,000 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model victory at Cochran Speedway, taking the checkers 1.617 seconds ahead of Ronnie Johnson.
Quotable: “This car tonight was perfect," winner Travis Pennington said. "I know we didn’t get the pole, but I knew we had a good car, and if we could get to the front, we could check out on them.”
Key notes: Pennington notched his second series victory; his previous win also came at Cochran on April 29, 2017. ... Nine drivers completed 50 laps and 13 were running at the finish. ... Despite a 5 p.m. thunderstorm, track owner and promoter Chris Martin's crew got the track in ready to race by 8 p.m. ....
