What won the race: John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., overtook Bruce Duckett mid-race Saturday at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway and went on to capture his Southwest Dirt Racing Association-leading seventh series victory of the season. Cornell earned $700 in the caution-free 25-lapper that lasted eight minutes.
Key notes: John Cornell won his first series race since Labor Day weekened, when he won at the same track. ... Saturday's polesitter Mike Masters led the first lap while Bruce Duckett led laps 2-12. ... Cornell led the rest of the way and was the only driver to complete 25 laps (the second- thorugh fourth-place finishers dropped out late). ... James Webster scratched from the main event.
