Benji Hicks won Friday's East Coast Rumble opener at Beckley.
What won the race: Benji Hicks of Mount Airy, N.C., dominated Friday's Fastrak Racing Series event at Beckley Motorsports Park for a $2,000 payday.
Key notes: Beckley kicked off Fastrak’s fourth annual East Coast Rumble, which also includes stops at Tyler County Speedway on Saturday and Wythe Raceway on Sunday. … Each race this weekend will count as two races for series members attempting to reach the seven-race minimum needed to attend the Fastrak World Challenge on Sept. 14. … Friday’s race is also the finale for the tour’s 14th annual Triple Crown, which has been plagued by rain this season. … Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., won the Triple Crown opener at 311 Motor Speedway on May 25. … Among the prizes for the Triple Crown champion is a $3,500 Howard Miller grandfather clock courtesy of NRV Furniture.
