What won the race: Payton Looney of Republic, Mo., overtook polesitter Gavin Landers on the third lap Saturday at Springfield Raceway and grabbed his first career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory. Looney earned $3,000 in taking the checkers ahead of 13th-starting Jack Sullivan, the series points leader.
Key notes: Looney led 38 laps after Gavin Landers led the first two. ... Looney won his heat race from the tail, which helped him earn an outside front-row starting spot. ... Feature runner-up Jack Sullivan rebounded from two flat tires in heat action. ... Scott Crigler scratched from the feature lineup. ...
