What won the race: G.W. Egbert IV of Salado, Texas, inherited the lead from Kody Hardage and then held off a charging Colton Horner to win Saturday’s Southern Texas Late Model Series feature at Big O Speedway. Horner finished second with “Little” Robbie Starnes third.
Key notes: Egbert picked up his fifth series win of the season. … The race was halted when Demetrius Carter got upside down on a green-white-checkered restart attempt. Carter was not injured. … Mike Fenton grabbed the lead at the start, but eventually gave way to Kody Hardage. … Hardage led until pulling off the track after nearly getting upside down, handing the lead to Egbert.
