Quotable: “I was telling someone the other day, I like boring races,” Winger said. “I won a race in Greenville (Mississippi) where we swapped the lead five times. It was fun, but I bent everything on the race car. Tonight, we’ve got a race car that’s ready to go for tomorrow night.”
Key notes: Winger finished 4.217 seconds ahead of Knowles in a race slowed by two cautions. ... Winger’s previous series wins came this year at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway and Blue Ridge (Ga) Motorsports Park. … Nine of the 24 starters completed all 40 laps. ... Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., was disqualified for driving into Andy Picklesimer of Ooltewah, Tenn., during a lap-three caution. ... The Southern All Stars will join Saturday's card for the B.J. Parker Memorial.
On the move: Cruz Skinner of Oxford, Ala., started 19th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Winger's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Johnny Doan Plumbing, Textron Off Road, Keyser Mfg. and J&C Properties.
