Willie Milliken picked up a $3,000 victory in the I-95 tour finale.
What won the race: Willie Milliken of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., led all 40 laps for a flag-to-flag, 0.491-second victory at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. Milliken collected $3,000 for his first I-95 Late Model Challenge Series victory of 2018 in the tour's finale.
Key notes: Milliken has three series victories; both of his previous wins came in 2016. ... The apparent second- and third-place finishers were disqualified for failing to make legal weight; Shaun Sewell was 23 pounds light and Chris Blackwell was 1 pound light. ... That moved Russell Erwin up to the second spot. ... A dozen drivers completed the 40-lap distance. ... Shaun Harrell lowered the track record in qualifying. ... The tour completed just seven events on its 2018 campaign. ... Twice postponed by hurricanes, including Oct. 12-13 by Hurricane Michael, Fayetteville hosts the $25,000-to-win Cash Money 100 on Oct. 26-27.
Winner's sponsors: Milliken’s Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by M.J. Price Construction, East Coast Towing, Quality Pools, Temple’s Body Shop, Dream Racing Technologies, Xtreme Detail, Ellis Motorsports and Hoosier Tire.
Points chase: Russell Erwin of Beaverdam, Va., clinched his third series championship, finishing with 146 points to top Robbie Emory (139) and Dustin Mitchell (132).
