Nevin Gainey visits victory lane at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Fla.
What won the race: Taking the lead when Clay Harris spun heading for the checkers, Nevin Gainey of Fort White, Fla., grabbed to his third Florida Challenge Series victory of the season Saturday at East Bay Raceway Park.
Key notes: Gainey's previous series victories came in the first two races at Volusia and All-Tech. ... Clay Harris took the lead from Gainey on the 12th lap but spun in turn four on the 25th and final lap. ... Phillip Cobb was sent to the tail after the early contact with Gainey, who grabbed the early lead. ... Shan Smith entered the race with the series points lead and led the first lap, but he pitted during a lap-two caution and was caught up in a five-car pileup on the ensuing restart and retired.
