Minnesota invader Don Shaw heads to victory at Canyon Speedway.
What won the race: Grabbing the lead from Jason Papich when Papich bobbled in turn one, Don Shaw of Ham Lake, Minn., held off Papich and Tony Toste to win Saturday’s Southwest Dirt Racing Association main event at Canyon Speedway. Shaw earned $1,000.
Key notes: Shaw finished 0.437 seconds ahead of Papich. … It was his seventh career SWDRA victory. He needs one more victory to move into a tie for 10th on the tour’s all-time win list. … Shaw won four SWDRA races last season, including three at Canyon. … Eight drivers completed all 30 circuits. ...
