What won the race: Winning his first Comp Cams Series race since July 25, 2015, Dane Dacus of Lakeland, Tenn., picked up a $6,000 victory in Saturday’s Cooper’s Country Meat Packers All American 60 at Jackson Motor Speedway. Dacus reclaimed the lead on lap 24 and paced the remaining 36 circuits, winning ahead of Hunter Rasdon and Jack Sullivan.
Quotable: “The racetrack was good. The track guys did an awesome job,” said race winner Dane Dacus. “Hat’s off to Jack (Sullivan) he raced us really nice, really clean. I just got in a rhythm and just slowed the pace down too much. I didn’t have anybody signaling me, so we just … I played it too safe on that. Jack passed me, told me to pick it up, so we ended up … everything worked out good.”
Key notes: Dacus surrendered the lead on lap 15, but was able to rebound nine laps later to regain the top spot. ... It was his second All American 60 victory. ... Dacus’s previous Comp Cams wins came at Camden (Tenn.) Speedway (’15); Malden (Mo.) Speedway (’10); and Poinsett County Raceway in Harrisburg, Ark.
