Shan Smith won his third Florida Late Model Challenge race of the season.
What won the race: Shan Smith of Dade City, Fla., picked up the victory in the Florida Late Model Challenge Series season finale at Volusia Speedway Park. The victory was worth $1,000 for Smith who crossed the finish line 1.621 seconds ahead of runner-up Brian Smith
Key notes: Ten of the 19 starters completed all 25 circuits. ... The victory was Smith's third series victory of the season, and his second tour victory at Volusia this year. ... Smith’s previous wins came at All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Fla., in October and at Volusia in June, as well as at Volusia and All-Tech last season. ...
