What won the race: Winning his second special event in as many weeks, polesitter Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala., outran fifth-starting Dillon Tidmore to win Saturday’s Cabin Fever 40 at Boyd’s Speedway. Justin Shipley finished third. Hiett pocketed $3,000 for the win.
Key notes: Hiett’s victory backed up his $6,000 National 100 win at East Alabama Motor Speedway on Jan. 27. … National 100 runner-up Tanner English of Benton, Ky., scratched from his heat after qualifying 12th in his group. … Eight of the 24 starters qualified for last year’s Cabin Fever 40 as well. … English, Lamar Scoggins, Will Roland, Derek Ellis, Mack McCarter and Dalton Polston were among drivers who failed to advance to the feature. … Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., won the Crate Late Model feature. … Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., won the Sportsman feature. … The event drew more than 140 cars across eight divisions.
