Billy Moyer gets rolling before his victory at Boothill Speedway.
What won the race: Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., flashed his Hall of Fame form Saturday night at Boothill Speedway, rolling to a flag-to-flag victory worth $3,000 in the 40-lap feature that wrapped up the season-opening Comp Cams Super Dirt Series weekend. The race's polesitter beat fellow front-row starter B.J. Robinson to the finish line.
Key notes: The 61-year-old Moyer registered his ninth career Comp Cams triumph. It was his first win on the tour since April 27, 2018, at his hometown's Batesville Motor Speedway. ... Tony Jackson Jr. finished fourth after capturing the previous night's CCSDS lidlifter at Arkansas's Texarkana 67 Speedway. ... Ninth-starter Jon Mitchell was the first to exit the event after breaking a rear end. ... Drivers who failed to make the feature lineup: Zach McMillan, Sawyer Crigler, Robbie Stuart, Brandon Hightower and Brett Frazier.
On the move: Hunter Rasdon of Jonesboro, Ark., last year's Comp Cams winner at Boothill, started 14th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: The winning Moyer Victory Race Car is sponsored by Mesilla Valley Transport, Henderson Motorsports, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Karl Performance, Jack’s CarQuest, Watters Autoland and Midwest Sheet Metal.
Points chase: Moyer leads the early Comp Cams points tour, but he's not expected to follow the series.
