Max Blair heads to his second RUSH Dirt Late Model Series victory in as many days.
What won the race: Former series champ Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., made it two in a row in RUSH touring action during the Battle of the Bay Speedweek with a flag-to-flag victory Thursday at Georgetown Speedway. Blair added the $3,000 victory to his $4,000 triumph Wednesday at Delaware International Speedway.
Quotable: “I almost really messed that (restart) up,” Blair said after a caution negated a brief pass by Matt Hill. “I was so worried about somebody rolling me on the top, that you know, I felt like I had them cleared down the frontstretch and I just moved up getting into (turn) one and left that bottom wide open. I wasn’t expected that, that’s for sure. That one caught me by surprise. We definitely got lucky with that caution.”
Key notes: Blair won by 3.656 seconds over runner-up Ross Robinson. ... Two early cautions slowed the 30-lapper. ... Home-state driver Matt Hill contended until retiring on lap 11. ... Dillon Brown of Gaffney, S.C., was the lone qualifier under 20 seconds. ... The Battle of the Bay Speedweek wraps up Saturday at Winchester (Va.) Speedway; Friday's scheduled event at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Md., was rained out. ... Jason Covert won Georgetown's Super Late Model feature, earning $3,026 in the Mark "Coot" Williams Memorial. ... The track drew 110 race cars in five divisions.
On the move: Dale Hollidge of Mechanicsburg, Md., started 12th and finished third.
