Scott James earned his first career Ethanol Tour victory.
What won the race: Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., powered by Mike Marlar on lap 28 and grabbed a $4,000 American Ethanol Late Model Tour payday in the tour's debut at Brownstown Speedway.
Quotable: "It feels good to drive by a lot of them guys that are so good," James said. "I've been waiting to have a car this good, and we've got it."
Key notes: Devin Gilpin led laps 2-22 before Mike Marlar took over on the backstretch; by then, the hub-hugging James was right in the mix and he overtook Marlar on lap 28. ... James ran his quickest lap of the night on lap 33, cruising to 40-lap win by 2.293 seconds over Marlar. ... James won the night after his runner-up finish at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Ky. ... Rich Bell started on the pole, led one lap and held third through lap 16 before retiring a lap later. ... Two cautions appeared early, first when Steve Godsey went off the track and again on the ensuing restart when Travis Stemler and Brett Miller spun in turn four.
