What won the race: Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., outran fourth-starting Eli Beets in Saturday night’s American Crate All-Star Series event at Clay Valley Speedway. Taking the checkers .830 ahead of Beets, Whitener earned $2,000 for his triumph in the second round of the Mayhem in the Mountains.
Key notes: After finishing second on Friday at Smoky Mountain Speedway, Whitener topped Beets and Chris Chandler in the feature. ... Ten drivers completed all 40 circuits. … The American Crate All-Star Series made its first of three scheduled visits to Clay Valley Speedway (formerly Lonesome Pine Raceway).
