What won the race: Rebounding from a disqualification the previous night, R.C. Whitwell of Tucson, Ariz., raced from his eighth starting spot to victory Saturday in co-sanctioned NCRA-Sooner action at Longdale Speedway. Whitwell made this victory stick after weighing in light Friday evening during the opener of the America Proud Celebration.
Key notes: Whitwell, who finished second in the night's modified feature behind Derick Ramirez, registered his first Dirt Late Model victory of the season driving for Hoskins Racing. ... Whitwell's Friday DQ came after he was light at the scales following the feature. ... Dusty Leonard, who inherited Friday's victory from Whitwell, came from the sixth starting spot to finish second. ... Polesitter Chris Kratzer fell back to finish fifth; Kratzer won Wednesday's NCRA main event at 81 Speedway.
