What won the race: Winning a side-by-side battle with Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., fifth-starting Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., pulled ahead on lap 29 of 30 when James slipped in turn four, leading the final circuit to score a $3,000 Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Series victory at Richmond Raceway.
Key notes: Dohm scored his third Kentucky victory of the season, grabbing a pair of victories at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City earlier this year. ... Polesitter Jason Jameson led the first seven laps before falling to Scott James. ... The race was slowed by four cautions. ... The first yelllow flag flew on lap six when Shawn Martin spun in turn three. ... Victor Lee slowed off the pace to draw a lap-13 caution; another yellow flag waved on the ensuing restart for a turn-four tangle between Kirk Phillips and Jason Barrett. ... Tommy Bailey got into the turn-four wall to draw the final caution on lap 17. ... There was a pileup during the dash contested to set the first three rows of the feature lineup. Freddie Carpenter rolled his car, with Jason Jameson and Tommy Bailey the only two cars to take the checkered flag. Jared Hawkins was forced to scratch from the feature after sustaining damage to his car and Dohm suffered a wrist injury. ... The Ultimate MOV action continues Saturday with the $5,000-to-win Butch Shay Memorial.
