John Cornell heads to victory at Canyon Speedway Park.
What won the race: Inheriting the pole after a first-lap wreck eliminated polesitter Brad Williams, series points leader John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., led all the way Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park for his third Southwest Dirt Racing Association victory of the season.
Key notes: Cornell has 18 career SWDRA victories. ... Polesitter Brad Williams spun between turns one and two on the first lap, collecting Jerry Fincher (both were done). ... Bruce Duckett retired late with mechanical issues; he still finished sixth because of several dropouts. ... Besides the first-lap wreck, the only slowdown came for debris on the 17th lap. ... Bud Grossenbacher scratched from the feature.
