What won the race: Pole-starting Matthew Nance of Ronda, N.C., raced to his series-leading seventh Blue Ridge Outlaws victory of the season Saturday at East Lincoln Speedway. He led every lap to earn $1,200.
Quotable: "I've feel like this (track) has owned me one for a couple of years," Nance said. "I've blowed a motors, carburetor problems, I've never had gotten a chance to finish a feature. I've always qualified good. ... All feature long I was waiting for the carburetor to go out, or blow a tire, or something (happen). We got lucky tonight and everything held together and I actually got to win one here."
Key notes: Nance entered the event winless in two previous series stops at East Lincoln in 2019. ... He spent the previous weekend on the Schaeffer's Southern Nationals (he'd skipped the previous three Blue Ridge Outlaw events). ... John Eller would've received a $100 bonus for a victory, but he got crossed up in the feature. ... Local driver Jay Sessoms started outside the front row but was the first retiree. ... In recent fund-raising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the series collected $1,845.
On the move: Bryson Harper of Forrest City, N.C., started seventh and finished third; Jonathan Petrea of Concord, N.C., started 11th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Nance's Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Crossroads Harley-Davidson, Diversified Finishers, Sheperds Home Improvement, Automotive Specialists, Tom Cat Performance, Ed's Cafe and Frontier Natural Gas.
