What won the race: Continuing his mastery of Toccoa Raceway, David McCoy of Franklin, N.C., won Saturday’s Southeastern Late Model Sportsman main event at the northern Georgia oval. McCoy finished 1.191 seconds ahead of Kenny Collins in winning the Stephen Wragg Memorial. He earned $2,900 for the 29-lap race.
Key notes: Apparent runner-up Kenny Collins was later disqualified for not tearing down his CT525 engine. ... The win was McCoy’s series-leading 26th career Southeastern Late Model Series victory. … Eleven of McCoy’s series triumphs have come at Toccoa, which his hosted the tour for Limited Late Models 34 times in it’s 12-year history. … Nine of the 13 starters completed all 29 circuits. … McCoy is the third series winner in three events.
