What won the race: Ross White of Knoxville, Tenn., raced to his first career American Crate All-Star Series victory, winning Saturday’s Food City 40 at Volunteer Speedway. White topped Tim Byrd and overall fast qualifier Andy Ogle in winning $2,000.
Key notes: Volunteer Speedway hosted the second night of the American Crate All-Star Series as the tour returned to make up a July 13 rainout. … Tim Byrd of Jonesborough, Tenn., set fast time during the July 13 program, which drew 35 cars, but Saturday’s show started from scratch. … Jesse Lowe of Crossville, Tenn., has won four of 12 series events this season, including Friday's weekend opener at Crossville. … Jake Teague of Petros, Tenn., has a pair of All-Stars wins on the year, as does Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn.
