Tyler Carpenter gets a high-five in victory lane after earning $5,000.
What won the race: Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., captured the richest victory of his Late Model career Sunday evening with a $5,000 victory in the Jim Dunn Memorial. The 23-year-old Carpenter started outside the front row alongside brother Chris and raced to a victory over fifth-starting Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind., and his older brother.
Key notes: The main event began shortly after 7:30 p.m. ... Brothers Chris and Tyler Carpenter started on the front row for the main event in their Kryptonite Race Cars. ... Devin Moran threw a driveshaft in time trials, but rallied to win his heat race from the tail. ... The race honored the late inaugural Dirt Track World Champion. ... Previous winners include Donnie Moran, Ned Lucas, Jack Boggs, Freddy Smith, Davey Johnson, Bart Hartman, Larry Bond, Corey Conley, Cortney Clewell, Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Shaver, Rick Aukland, Earl Pearson Jr., Ray Cook, Zack Dohm and Jackie Boggs. ...
