What won the race: Polesitter Brandon Williams of Crossville, Tenn., outdueled Christian Hanger in a back-and-forth battle Saturday at Duck River Raceway Park for a Durrence Layne Chevrolet Series feature victory. The Crate Late Model special paid $2,500.
Quotable: “I knew I was the leader, and I knew Hanger was right beside me in second, but since there was no scoreboard to look at, I had no idea what lap we were on,” Williams said. “I just drove as hard as I could, and I kept waiting to see the white flag. This is our fourth race this season with the series, and I felt like we’ve had a winning car each time. After a second and two third-place finishes; it feels good to get a win.”
Key notes: Williams led the first lap and the final 33. ... Hanger led laps 2-17. ... Williams won less than two weeks after a $10,019 victory on the American Crate All-Star Series at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. ...
