Chad Becker won at Sheyenne for his third career NLRA victory.
What won the race: Fifth-starting Chad Becker of Aberdeen, S.D., fought past polesitter Shane Edgington midrace to capture Sunday’s Northern LateModel Racing Association sanctioned event at Sheyenne Speedway. Curt Gelling was elevated to the runner-up spot after the disqualifications of apparent second- and third-place finishers Don Shaw and Dustin Strand.
Quotable: “I was just following ‘em around the bottom there, so I figured we had to try something on that restart,” Becker said. “So we were kind of feeling the top out, and I knew I could run up there. I just had to get a lot of steam up top and it worked out awesome. The car would driver anywhere."
Key notes: Becker had planned on competing at Casino Speedway, but that event rained out. ... Becker won his first career NLRA victory and first since July 14, 2010, at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. ... Polesitter Shane Edginton ended up 16th. … The track is hosted the Northern LateModel Racing Association for the 13th time and just the second time since 2016.
On the move: Curt Gelling of Aberdeen, S.D., started 17th and finished second.
