Matthew Nance earned $1,500 for his victory at Wythe Raceway.
What won the race: Flag-to-flag winner Matthew Nance of Ronda, N.C., fought off fellow front-row starter Travis Greer in the final laps Saturday at Wythe Raceway to capture his series-leading eighth Blue Ridge Outlaw victory of the season.
Quotable: “(A too-soft right-front tire) got hot and we got really, really hot and we couldn’t steer, and we was fading bad,” Nance said.
Key notes: Nance discovered a leak in his right-front tire before the feature; the team added a spare that was too soft, but managed to hang on. ... Nance tagged the wall on his second time-trial lap and suffered spoiler damage. … The series announced that Aug. 23’s series event at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, N.C., would count for double points.
Winner's sponsors: Nance's Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Crossroads Harley-Davidson, Diversified Finishers, Sheperds Home Improvement, Automotive Specialists, Tom Cat Performance, Ed's Cafe and Frontier Natural Gas.
Fast qualifier: Travis Greer
Polesitter: Travis Greer
Dash winner: Matthew Nance
Next series race: August 23, Friendship Motor Speedway (Elkin, NC) $1,500
