What won the race: Winning his first career feature in any division, ninth-starting Tommy Jones of Shepherds Crossroads, N.C., topped David Minton and John Eller for a Blue Ridge Outlaws triumph at Friendship Motor Speedway on Saturday. Jones earned $1,500.
Quotable: “First off I’m gonna thank the good Lord above. I don’t deserve this. He’s done so much for me,” said Jones. “I wanna thanks Matthew Nance, Brian Nance, Sandy, all the Nances. They’ve took me under their wing. After qualifying I called Brian and told him what I had and I told him what I’d done. He said, you’re headed in the right direction, just go with it. And heck, they dropped the green flag and we went up pretty quick. Matthew (Nance) built this car. I just bought it. I so appreciate them.”
