Morgan Bagley talks about his victory Saturday at Boothill.
What won the race: Polesitter Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, topped John O. Whittington to win Saturday's Louisiana Late Model Series visit to Boothill Speedway. Bagley earned $2,000 for his second career Louisiana tour win.
Quotable: “We had a good weekend, and it was obviously really nice to get back to victory lane on Saturday night,” Bagley said. “This year, it just feels like we’ve been just a tick off from where we need to be on most nights. Competition is so tight nowadays that if you’re just a tick off, it really shows. I couldn’t be more proud of our team for never giving up though and digging deep. There’s a lot of big races in our area over the next few months, and we’re going to hit them hard. I know there’s more wins in this team before the year is over."
Key notes: The Louisiana Late Model Series visited Boothill for the first time this season and third time in the second-year tour’s history. … The series’ May 18 stop at the Greenwood, La., oval was rained out. … Austin Theiss of Hockey, Texas, and the late Ronny Adams of Diana, Texas, captured Louisiana Series wins at Boothill last season. … B.J. Robinson of Bossier City, La. has a series-high three wins this year.
Winner's sponsors: Bagley's Rocket Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by P&W Sales, P&W Iron Works, Junction Auto Sales, GottaRace and Weld Racing.
Points chase: Entering the weekend, Robbie Stuart (875 points) of DeRidder, La., leads Brandon Hightower (785), Rob Litton (745), Morgan Bagley (635) and B.J. Robinson (595).

Next series race: August 31, Chatham Speedway (Chatham, LA) $2,000
