What won the race: Using a slider to edge ahead of Jamie Lathroum on lap 12, Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., led the rest of the way to win Saturday’s Tex Shaffer Memorial at Hagerstown Speedway. Covert earned $5,046 in finishing ahead of Kyle Lee and Trever Feathers in the Ultimate Northeast Series-sanctioned race.

Quotable: “This is for Tex Shaffer. I came here when I was a kid, and that 46 car was here a lot longer than what I’ve been alive,” said Covert. “Just the memory of him, and thanks for all of the fans for coming out. I hope we put on a little bit of show there.”
