What won the race: Craig Parker of Waddell, Ariz., led all 25 laps to win Saturday’s Southwest Dirt Racing Association race at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway. Parker topped John Cornell and Steve Stultz for a $700 victory.
Key notes: Parker, who earned the pole position by virtue of the Schaeffer’s Oil redraw, finished 0.635 seconds ahead of Cornell. … Cornell caught Parker with four laps remaining, but slipped high in turns one and two on lap 23, allowing the leader to scoot away. … It his third SWDRA win of the season and ninth of this career. … Parker now has two series wins at the Queen Creek, Ariz., oval. … Eight of the 13 starters completed all 25 laps. … Bruce Duckett pulled off the track on lap eight sue to overheating. … Third-running Brian Schultz blew a right rear tire on lap 15 and tagged the wall, ending his night. … The race was slowed by two cautions: lap six for Kelly Johnson and lap 15 for Schultz.
