What won the race: Willie Milliken of Roanoke Rapids, S.C., outran Shaun Harrell in Friday’s I-95 Late Model Challenge Series event at Fayetteville Speedway to register his fourth career series victory. Dominating all 35 laps, he earned $2,500 as the sixth winner in six series races this season as he moved into second in the points chase.
Quotable: “I tried to time Shaun (on the start), but it was just … I think I got a little bit better roll on him than I should have and I might’ve beat him to the line just a little bit,” Milliken said. “I pretty much jumped a little bit, but they didn’t call it back, so I just kept my foot in it ’til they told me to back off — and they never did."
Key notes: A single caution slowed the feature. ... Fayetteville Motor Speedway hosted the I-95 Late Model Challenge for the second of three scheduled events this season. … The track hosted the I-95 Challenge for the 16th time. ... The series returns to Fayetteville on Sept. 21.
