Max Blair picked up his series-leading sixth ULMS win of 2019.
What won the race: Series points leader Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., led all 33 laps of Saturday's Butch Renninger Memorial for his tour-leading sixth Zimmer's United Late Model Series victory of the season. Blair pocketed $4,033 in purse money and another $1,400 in lap money while taking the checkers 1.712 seconds ahead of runner-up Jason Covert.
Key notes: Blair notched his 25th career ULMS victory. ... Fifth-place finisher Rick Eckert picked up a $4,000 bonus for electing to start on the tail and earning hard charger honors (Gregg Satterlee started alongside Eckert and finished sixth). ... ULMS visited Port Royal for the third time this season for the 16th annual Butch Renninger Memorial, which is also the 165th Juniata County Fair Opener. … The race honored the late Howard D. “Butch” Renninger Jr., a former Port Royal track champion in the Limited Late Model divisions. Renniger died May 1, 2004 after completing an enduro feature at Port Royal. His grandson, Trent Brenneman, currently races Super Late Models at Port Royal. ... Dylan Yoder unofficially clinched the 2019 track title with his fourth-place finish.
