Tyler Ritchey captured his first Mason-Dixon tour victory.
What won the race: Tyler Ritchey of Woodbury, Pa., joined the Mason-Dixon Shootout Series winner's list Sunday night, capturing his first-ever victory on the tour in the held-over 25-lap Elmer Ruby Memorial at Bedford Speedway. He shot forward from the third starting spot to claim the $1,000 top prize in a race that was rained out on July 21 after preliminaries were completed.
Key notes: Ritchey's triumph came over Mason-Dixon points leader Andrew Yoder, who advanced from the seventh starting spot to finish second. ... Ritchey, who won his first career Limited Late Model feature, was paralyzed in an accident several years ago and races using hand controls. ... Twelve of the race's 19 starters were running at the finish. ... The race, which was originally postponed on July 7, was added to Bedford's regularly scheduled Labor Day weekend show that featured the Steel-Block Standoff, a $1,500-to-win Mason-Dixon event won by Donnie Farlling of Newville, Pa.
On the move: Brad Feight of Breezewood, Pa., started 16th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Ritchey’s winning No. 3 is sponsored by Ritchey Sandblasting, Middle Ridge Performance, Chubby Trucking, Diamond Ranch and Singleton Rental.
Points chase: Entering Bedford, Andrew Yoder of Middleburg, Pa., had 413 points to lead Devin Frey (374) and Donnie Farlling (360).
