Pat Doar gets rolling Saturday at Hibbing before his Sunday victory.
What won the race: Earning $3,000 but falling five points shy of his sixth series championship, fifth-starting Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., captured Sunday's Wollak Construction WISSOTA Challenge Series finale at Hibbing Raceway. A.J. Diemel of Elk Mound, Wis., finished fifth to barely hold on for his first tour title.
Key notes: Doar, last year's series champ, scored his series-leading 34th career victory (four of them at Hibbing). ... Hometown driver Kyle Peterlin won Saturday's opener; he was among several retirees in Sunday's main event. ... Travis Budisalovich advanced six positions to finish sixth. ... Devin VanHouse scratched from Sunday's feature. ... Sunday marked the tour’s 15th visit to Hibbing.
On the move: Runner-up Jeffrey Massingill of Keewatin, Minn., started 11th.
