What won the race: Overtaking Mitch McGrath on a restart in the final laps, two-time series champ Nick Anvelink of Navarino, Wis., padded his lead atop the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour standings with Saturday's Wildman Classic victory at Wilmot Raceway. Recording his fifth victory of the season and 14th of his career, Anvelink pocketed $1,250.
Key notes: Mitch McGrath got the jump on polesitter Taylor Scheffler and led nearly the entire 30-lapper. ... Two cautions in the final three laps slowed the action and Nick Anvelink slipped by McGrath on the final restart. ... The Brent Family sponsored Wilmot heat races; winners Mark Rose, Mitch McGrath and Nick Anvelink received $50 apiece. ... Redline Web Designs provided $100 and a trophy for hard charger Brett Swedberg. ... The second annual event paid tribute to former Wisconsin racer Jim "Wildman" Watson. Brittany Watson, Jim’s daughter, presented the trophy in victory lane.
