What won the race: Fifth-starting Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., secured his second straight Zimmer’s United Late Model Series title in the afternoon, then captured Saturday's Mike Duclon Memorial at Freedom Motorsports Park. Finishing ahead of afternoon feature winner Chub Frank and polesitter Mike Maresca, the fifth-starting Blair bagged $3,058.
Quotable: “Dad made a couple of calls for this race I wasn’t completely sure about,” Blair said, “but it definitely paid off. We were really good. That’s the best we’ve been all weekend. The racetrack’s just been way different all weekend than what it normally is because there’s so many more race cars. We’ve been chasing it a little bit, but we hit it right at the right time."
Key notes: Blair drove with the No. 58 on his car paying tribute to race honoree Mike Duclon, who was a welder and steel fabricator at Close Racing Supply. ... Blair overtook Chub Frank for the lead on the ninth lap and cruised to his 26th career ULMS win. ...
