Cole Schill led the final 10 laps of Jamestown’s Stock Car Stampede.
What won the race: A high-running Cole Schill of Horace, N.D, went around fellow second-row starter Derek Vesel on a restart with 10 laps remaining Saturday at Jamestown Speedway and raced to a $4,000 Stock Car Stampede victory. Vesel, who led laps 4-20, finished second with early leader Dustin Strand in third in the 30-lapper.
Quotable: "My car was just good on the top," the winner said in victory lane. "I saw (leader Derek Vesel) dip down; I never lifted going into turn one. It stuck and I went, and here we are."
Key notes: Schill restarted third on lap 20, using his outside starting spot to go around Dustin Strand and Derek Vesel for the victory. ... Running for the first time since 2014, the winner's father, Howie Schill, finished fourth. ...
