Jason Jameson earned $5,000 for his victory in Williamsburg, Ohio.
What won the race: Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, Ind., overtook polesitter Josh Rice on the sixth circuit and led the final 27 laps Friday, claiming the $5,000 Championship Bash at Moler Raceway Park. Rice settled for second with Tyler Erb third.
Quotable: “I didn’t know what was gonna happen there,” said Jameson. “(Josh) Rice was pretty tough around the top and if he didn’t make a mistake I don’t think I ever would have got around him. I knew I had to make something on that start if I got a run. If I could get the lead … it’s easier to lead than it is to pass somebody.”
Key notes: The race was slowed by two cautions, with the first coming on lap five (the race-winning pass occurred on the ensuing restart) and the final caution slowing the race on lap 14. ... Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., brought out a red flag earlier in the evening, when he flipped while battling Freddie Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., during the third heat race. ... Rattliff was okay, but the incident ended his night. ... Carpenter rebounded to finish fourth in the feature. … With over 150 total cars competing on Friday, across four different classes, the 32-lap Late Model feature saw the green flag shortly after 12:30 a.m. … The race was rescheduled from an Oct. 11 rainout.
On the move: David Webb of Nicholasville, Ky., started 20th and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Jameson’s Rattliff Racing Swartz Race Car has a Pro Power Racing Engine and sponsorship from MGL Auto Sales, On Time Courier and Pro-Tech Metal Fabrication.
Points chase: John Whitney of Clarksville, Ohio, tops Moler's weekly points standings.
