What won the race: Outrunning Dan Breuer on Oct. 26 at Friendship Motor Speedway, polesitter Corey Gordon of Charlotte, N.C., won his first career Blue Ridge Outlaws main event.
Quotable: “It would’ve been nice to sweep the whole weekend, especially with that pole award,” said Gordon. “But I went to work and all the team and crew and everybody went to work and made this car really good for tonight. That mist and little bit of rain added a little bit of extra fun throughout the middle of the race and kinda made things interesting there. I ran out of tearoffs. That’s crazy being out front and running out of tearoffs.”
Key notes: Gordon earned a $200 bonus as a first-time winner on the Blue Ridge Outlaws tour. ... Gordon qualified second overall, but earned the pole by virtue of his dash victory. ... Gordon continued his season of firsts as he also win is first career Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series feature in May at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. ...
