What won the race: Holding off Jay Scott early and Josh Putnam late, polesitter Sam Seawright of Rainsville, Ala., led all 35 laps to win Sunday’s Deep Fried Fall Brawl at Duck River Raceway Park. Seawright earned $2,500 in finishing ahead of sixth-starting Putnam and Ohio invader Rusty Schlenk.
Key notes: After Saturday's action was rained out, Duck River Raceway Park hosted a condensed Deep Fried Fall Brawl on Sunday. … Third-starting Jay Scott of Fayetteville, Tenn., slipped by second-starting Christian Hanger of Winchester, Tenn., on the second lap and quickly closed in on Seawright. Scott ran second until he was charged with a caution on a lap-26 restart, the result of another car spinning as the field took the green. Scott elected to park rather than tag the rear. ... The race was slowed by four caution flags. ... Eleven of the 14 starters finished the race. … Both Caleb Ashby and David Gentry were early retirees. … Hanger slipped to seventh after starting on the front row. … Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., drove a David Duplissey-backed CVR Race Car, starting 14th and finishing sixth. … Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, led all 30 laps of the Crate Late Model feature in debuting his new self-built Domination Race Car by RSR.
On the move: Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., started 14th and finished sixth.
