What won the race: Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., overtook polesitter Brett Hamm on lap three and never looked back to capture Saturday night's 40-lap Red Rose Rumble at Lancaster Speedway. Winning by more than 12 seconds in a caution-free event, Mitchell earned $5,000 in the Carolina Clash season opener at the high-speed half-mile oval.
Quotable: “This is one of the most nerve-wracking places to race, especially 40 straight laps,” Mitchell said in victory lane. “We made the right changes tonight and everything fell in our favor. It was our night."
