What won the race: Regaining the lead from fellow front-row starter Tony Jackson Jr. on a lap-18 restart, Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., captured Friday's Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association opener at Randolph County Raceway. He earned $3,000 for his third career MLRA victory.
Key notes: Babb led the first nine laps before Tony Jackson Jr. went by on a restart. ... The winner regained the point on lap 19, taking the advantage of a restart. ... Tim Manville slowed to draw a lap-18 yellow. ... Daryn Klein, Jeremiah Hurst and Garrett Alberson tanged on lap 18 with the Hurst and Alberson cars (Roberts Motorsports teammates) suffered heavy damage. ...
