What won the race: Holding off a charging Dustin Strand, polesitter Brad Seng of Grand Forks, N.D., rolled to victory in the Northern LateModel Racing Association opener Saturday at Devils Lake Speedway. Recording his 38th career NLRA win, Seng earned $2,000 in the Golden Hammer Classic.
Key notes: The upper Midwestern organization opened its season after four cancellations related to the coronavirus pandemic. … The June 27 date was the latest start in the 23-year history of the series. ... Several series regulars based in Canada, including former champion Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, won’t be able to compete before of the U.S.-Canadian border closure that’s been extended through July. … Walhalla Buildings Center was the night’s presenting sponsor.
