What won the race: Overtaking leader Scott James exiting turn two with two laps remaining, Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., captured Saturday's $5,031-to-win Johnny Wheeler Memorial at Lake Cumberland Speedway.
Quotable: “Scott was good. That race went by fast,” Dohm said. “I looked up and seen the flagman (show) five (laps) to go, and I thought, ‘Man, I’ve gotta start doing something different.’ My car was bad-ass out there in the middle (of the track)."
Key notes: Jason Jameson used the high side to briefly take the lead in the first half the race, but Scott James fought back ahead with Dohm right behind them. ... Jameson ended up fifth. ... Dohm joins Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., and Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., as winners of the Johnny Wheeler Memorial, which honors the former track champion who died in 2018. … With his runner-up finish, James, of Bright, Ind., continued his solid season at Lake Cumberland Speedway, where he has a pair of wins already in 2020. … James was unhappy the slower car of Connor Meade didn't make way for him late in the race. ... Fast qualifier Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind., finished third in his second Lake Cumberland start.
Winner's sponsors: Dohm’s Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsored by Dohm Cycles, Octane Race Products, Way Floor Covering, Jen’s Hair Care and Mountain Top RV Park.
Points chase: Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., is the reigning track champion.
