Brad Seng won his series-leading 40th career NLRA event.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Brad Seng of Grand Forks, N.D., outran fellow second-row starter Ryan Mikkelson in Saturday’s Northern LateModel Racing Association-sanctioned event at Jamestown Speedway to record his series-leading 40th victory. Finishing ahead of Mikkelson and Cole Schill, Seng earned $1,200.
Quotable: "I swore (Mikkelson) was on the left, right, in my window net," winner Brad Seng told the Jamestown Sun. "I would never worry about him. He's a clean racer and if he was gonna get by it was gonna be clean."
Key notes: NLRA points leader Dustin Strand, who had won the weekend's previous two series events, crashed in the third heat and wasn't able to start the feature. ... The tour's 25th visit to Jamestown was the lone visit of 2020. ... Mike Balcaen won last year's trip to Jamestown, but coronavirus border restrictions didn't allow the Canadian driver to go for his second straight win. ... Other Canadians missing from NLRA action in 2020 include Shane Edginton, Bill, Mooney, Ryan Kereluk and Jesse Teunis. ... Jamestown capped a three-race NLRA weekend.
On the move: Eric Edwards of Edgeley, N.D., started 12th and finished sixth.
Winner's sponsors: Seng’s MB Customs entry is sponsored by Bergstrom Electric, S&S Transport, Schill Construction, M.V. Collette Farms, Broken Drum Bar & Grill, Signature Warehousing, Custom Stripes, Anderson Brothers Body Shop, Valley Oral & Facial Surgery and Forks Mobile Wash.
Points chase: After Jamestown, Dustin Strand of Grand Forks, N.D., has 1,560 points to lead Brody Troftgruben (1,500) and Brad Seng (1,428).
