What won the race: Polesitter Freddie Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va., wired the field in Saturday night’s Holmes Tire Late Model Invitational at Hilltop Speedway to earn $5,000. He took the checkers ahead of Corey Conley and Brandon Francis.
Quotable: “We threw everything at it and the guys worked hard and it paid off,” Carpenter said.
