What won the race: Sweeping the summer's richest weekend doubleheader on the West Coast, Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., grabbed a victory in Sunday's finale at Santa Maria Speedway's Simkins Memorial. Hogged added $5,000 for his $3,000 victory on Saturday in outrunning Steve Drake and Tony Toste.
Key notes: The event was originally sanctioned by Colorado-based Championship Dirt Motorsports, but that organization folded this summer. ... Overall nearly $100,000 in purses were on the line.
Winner's sponsors: Hogge's No. 2 Victory Circle Chassis has sponsorship from Keyser Mfg. and Steinwand.
Points chase: Entering the race, Clay Daly of Watsonville, Calif., led the track's Late Model division standings with 234 points over Steve Drake (223) and Tony Toste (222).
