Tad Pospisil celebrates after winning the first of two features at I-80.
What won the race: Advancing from the fourth starting position, Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., cruised to victory in the first of two semifeatures for the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series Friday night at I-80 Speedway. The defending series champion earned $1,500 in an event that opened the tour's 2021 season and kicked off I-80's two-day Spring Meltdown.
Key notes: Pospisil's triumph was his third consecutive at the Nebraska oval, after winning both Malvern Bank SLMR races there last year. ... Brian Kosiski of Papillion, Neb., finished second, 2.673 seconds behind Pospisil. ... There were no caution flags during the first semi-feature and it lasted less than five minutes. ... All drivers completed the entire 15 laps, except for Tyler Smith of Gibbon, Neb., who retired on lap six and Junior Coover of Norfolk, Neb., who did not start. ...
